China supplies much of the world's rare-earth magnets and separated rare earths (JL Mag, Ningbo Yunsheng, Northern Rare Earth), refined lithium (Ganfeng, Tianqi), battery anode and cathode materials (BTR, Ronbay), display panels (BOE) and passive components (Sunlord), and its chemical makers now compete worldwide in polyurethanes, polyolefins, silicones, fluorochemicals, titanium dioxide and engineering plastics (Wanhua, Sinopec, LB Group, Juhua). Counterparts include VAC, Shin-Etsu, MP Materials, Lynas, Albemarle, SQM, Umicore, POSCO Future M, Samsung Display, LG Display, Murata and TDK, and in chemicals Dow, BASF, Covestro, Chemours and Wacker. Several entries carry China's own export-control notes: exports of the listed items need a licence.
Sintered high-performance NdFeB magnets and magnet assemblies for NEV drive motors, inverter air-conditioner compressors, wind turbines, industrial servo motors and consumer electronics. Made about 34,400 t of magnet blanks in 2025 at plants in Ganzhou, Baotou and Ningbo.

Separated rare-earth oxides, salts and metals, from lanthanum, cerium and PrNd to samarium, terbium and dysprosium, refined from Bayan Obo concentrate supplied by its parent Baogang. Also makes NdFeB magnetic materials, polishing powders and hydrogen-storage alloys.

Ethylene cracked from US ethane at Lianyungang, with polyethylene, ethylene oxide and glycol, plus propylene, polypropylene, acrylic acid and acrylate esters, superabsorbent polymers and polymer emulsions made in Jiaxing and Pinghu. 2025 revenue was CNY 46.1B, 17% of it from outside China.
